so i was wondering if the style would be flat coloured with lighter outlines according what the area colour is.. and no shading but maybe gradients will be good?

i think anything with huge pupils are cute!
oh yea... and also.... i had an idea of the alien sticking his thumb into his mouth to communicate..
i think its a cute and funny addition to the character.. and most of all, less to animate XD

Ok, for tomorrow well all be needing to bring in the following for the 10 am meeting:
3 Rough (but readable panels) for the part of the story that you were assigned.
You can choose to do a variety of things with this, for instance. You could do 3 shots in sequential order telling the story. OR you could do 3 different approaches to the same shot (upshot, down shot, strait, etc.) OR if you fancy yourself a character / animation person you could work out some sequential poses for a character during a scene.
During tomorrows meeting we will decide as to which of the panels we will go with for the pitch.
After you clean it up please email it to me by latest midday monday (1 pm) PLEASE try to get it to me as early as possible (if possible, sunday) as I need to put them all into one solid presentation ASAP.

For our storyboard purposes, lets try to keep few things consistant between all the boards we are doing.
Character - Let's keep our main character around 2' tall, with his proportion of 2.5 heads tall. Keep the character to 2 arms, 2 legs, have 3 fingers and a thumb in each hand. Keep the facial to 2 eyes, and no sharp teeth. He may have a backpack, and keep his utility/communication watch/bracelet to his right wrist... he is left handed(a sign of sinister-ism?).
Saucer - Keep the space ship/saucer diameter to about the size of a 18-wheel tailer.
So, don't draw it too big or too small.
For design or ideas for the alien to use, check the blog tonight.
Pick an alien design you like and test it out on your beat board as a posing test as well.
